I was commissioned by Time Out Melbourne to capture some portraits of Father Bob Maguire for the November 2011 issue, the first printed edition of the magazine.
The shoot took place at Sts Peter and Paul Church in South Melbourne where Father Bob has worked as Parish Priest for 38 years up until the end of this month when he will retire.
He certainly is a character, I only had around ten minutes to photograph him and yet somehow we managed to talk about topics ranging from my homeland of Scotland, what religion I am, to the origins of the stained glass in the church (which I believe was Germany)
Father Bob was gazing up at the stained glass above me, recounting the origins of the glass, when I quickly fired off the frame of him looking up which was also luckily into the light I was using.
